Our history

In 1910 Paul Jacquart son of a line of musicians (Singers and organists) opened his workshop of piano and orcas in Montreuil sur mer.

Very quickly his activity developed. Thus he opened one of many branches throughout the region (Fruges, Paris plage, Boulogne sur mer, Calais, Montreuil sur mer ...), as well as a renowned workshop on four floors in Boulogne sur mer. made pianos bearing his name.

Subsequently he transferred his activity in the capital to 106 rue St-Maur, and rue de la gout d'or. He carried out numerous repairs for the Parisian stores.

At the end of 1932 he opened a workshop in Nogent sur marne at 29 Rue Charles VII.

In 1934 he built and opened a workshop at 54 Grande Rue. His son also named Paul Jacquart, learned the trade quite naturally. After the Second World War, he devoted himself more particularly to the restoration and maintenance of pianos. He settled in Nogent sur Marne. He also ensured the tuning of organs and harmoniums.

In the early seventies, with the proliferation of music schools, he actively developed the tuning and finishing of pianos. His reputation led him to work for the greatest pianists. His son Philippe learned the trade successfully, but the ups and downs of life eventually led him into a different path from the craft.

He therefore transmitted his art to his grandson Georges Roux (son of his eldest daughter). The latter founded with six partners the company ARP (Accord et Restauration de Pianos) in July 1987 in Massy. He transferred his activity in 1993 to Longjumeau (91). It is in this workshop that he will develop high-end restorations and collectibles. There are format piano factors. He also devoted himself to the maintenance of the instruments of the music schools and conservatories of the Ile de France, including among others the Paris conservatories. The workshop was chosen from among the five workshops selected in France, to train piano restorers.

In 1994, together with his workshop, he opened a store of musical instruments and musical scores. He developed a large fleet of rental instruments as well as a rental service for concert pianos.

In 1996, a distance selling service by minitel "3615 ARP" was created which made it possible to offer the entire catalog online at the time when the internet was not accessible to everyone.

With the democratization of internet access, the "3615 ARP" service was transferred to the concertiste.com site, which today constitutes a reference database for the musician.

Currently the workshop remains in France, an essential place for the restoration of musical instruments.
